One thing that was unfortunately missing from all of the amazing announcements at this year’s WWDC is the introduction of a standalone “Passwords” app.

I think putting this feature front and center instead of burying it in Settings could really help the user experience and improve discoverability.

I made a quick mockup in Sketch to illustrate that this could be achieved with surprisingly little work. Here’s hoping they do this soon! 🤞

Update June 2024:

Apple finally introduced a standalone password manager app at WWDC2024. They went for a more abstract style for the app icon but the actual interface of the app is not too far off of what I initially imagined one year earlier. See for yourself:
