Recreating iOS app icons in Sketch
2023/05/16 #projectI recently tried to recreate the Safari-icon in Sketch to get some practice. It was a fun challenge.
After my first try with the Safari-icon I tried to recreate the icon of the iPhone's Weather app. It took me only about 20 minutes from start to finish and it was especially satisfying to play with the opacity and background blur of the cloud shape.
As a last challenge I tackled the Photos app icon. This one was really obvious and straightforward to recreate but difficult when it comes to the colors. I'm not happy with the inconsistencies in the dark areas where the shapes overlay (especially the one on the upper left side) but I did want to play around with the different blend modes for any longer. I feel like I got 80% of the way there.
